Accompanied by three fashion bloggers, the five-piece documentary „Sweat Shop – Dead Cheap Fashion“ takes us all the way to Cambodia. Here, they witness the raw and real everyday struggles in the life of a Cambodian seamstress, trying to make a living in the undeniable disastrous working conditions in one of the numerous factories, that are run by so called discount clothing labels.
The documentary even picks it up a notch with letting the bloggers experience these conditions firsthand, when letting them work an entire day in a factory, then sleeping on the floor of a tiny room which the seamstress calls home and prepping a meal for the entire family with one workdays pay.
With its continuous change of perspective „Sweat Shop“ manages to give us a glimpse on what really lays behind the jeans and t-shirts we most probably wear everyday.
