What happens when one feeds a computer with an unthinkable amount of sci-fi film scripts?
Filmmaker Oscar Sharp tried to do just that and produced this short film, which script was completely written by an algorithm. To be specific, it was authored by a recurrent neural network called long short-term memory. At least, that’s what we’d call it. The Artificial Inteligence named itself Benjamin!
Sunspring is a wonderfully confusing film, that doesn’t actually make any sense
Even stage directions such as: „He is standing in the stars and sitting on the floor”, didn’t scare off the director. Who made this film in just 48 hours for the Sci-Fi Filmfestival London. One member of the jury commented after watching the film: „I’ll give them top marks if they promise never to do this again”. We disagree and wouldn’t mind watching more films made by Benjamin!
